My name is Claire McNairy and I am a producer, filmmaker, and media creator from Sonoma, California. I have a BA in Film and Digital Media from UC Santa Cruz, and I am in search of opportunities to work on documentaries, promotional media, films, and photography projects.
During my time at UC Santa Cruz, I participated in and held leadership positions for UCSC’s largest filmmaking organization, the Film Production Coalition (FPC). FPC is a space for students of all experience levels to learn filmmaking skills by creating short films each quarter at UCSC. I started in FPC as a cinematographer, working as a camera operator and director of photography on multiple projects.
I then transitioned to producing short films. The role involved logistical planning of the filmmaking process from start to finish. As a producer, my responsibilities included managing up to 50 crew/cast members, scheduling and planning agendas for department meetings, coordinating with other producers, and teaching filmmaking skills (editing, camera operation, sound mixing, production design, etc.) to members.
As the Event Coordinator for FPC, I planned and managed a team of volunteers for all three of the SCTV Film Festivals held during the 2023-2024 school year. The showings featured 8-10 films for an audience of 400+ attendees at the end of each academic quarter.
